Our projects at the AFCI Training Centre
Situated less than 1km from Zaatari Refugee Camp, Zaatari Village has largely been left behind by the response to the humanitarian crisis, as most support is delivered to the camp itself, where larger organizations operate. It is estimated that the number of Syrian refugees residing in Zaatari Village equals the number of Jordanians already living there prior to the war. The sudden population increase has put huge pressure on the infrastructure and economy of the village.
Acting for Change International has been providing a long-term and consistent presence in the village, supporting both Syrians and Jordanians, in order to contribute positively towards community cohesion. This has enabled our team to strengthen its credibility within the community.
